Dr. Thushara Subasinghe, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering, participated in a consultation meeting titled "Way Forward: Petroleum Industry and Shaping the Petroleum Industry for the Next 25 Years." The meeting was held on January 3, 2025, at the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL), Wijerama Road, Colombo 07, with the participation of industry experts.
The discussion focused on the future challenges and opportunities for Sri Lanka’s petroleum sector, emphasizing the need for modernization, improved energy security, and alignment with global energy trends. Key areas included upgrading refining capabilities, enhancing industry regulations, and exploring sustainable practices to ensure long-term viability.
