“COMPASS” is the annual symposium organized by the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Moratuwa to address the current industrial issues while enhancing the collaboration of Chemical and Process Engineering undergraduates with industrial representatives, academia and entrepreneurs. It was organized for the fourth consecutive year and was proceeded with different focus areas than in the previous events. COMPASS 2018 was successfully held on 09th of October 2018 at BMICH, under the theme “Productivity and Efficiency through Process Engineering”.
The event was able to bridge the gap between current industrial practices and trending chemical engineering concepts for a sustainable future by creating a strong platform for industry and academia. Sharing knowledge and combining their expertise were achieved throughout the event.
COMPASS 2018 featured three sessions focusing on following key areas.
- Process Safety
- Value Added Waste
- Process Optimization & Energy Recovery
The conference was enlightened with the presence of Chief Guest, Mr. Kulatunga Rajapaksha, Guest of Honour, Mr. Dhammika Welhenge and many other distinguished guests including industry, academia and undergraduates along with 300+ participants with keen interest towards sustainability.
