Mr. Abdulla Ziyad, Minister of State for Ministry of Environment and Energy of the Republic of Maldives visited the University of Moratuwa on 21st October 2016 and requested Training Programs to train Maldivian students in the areas of Water and Coastal Engineering.

German delegates including Ms. Heike Mok, Director, DAAD New Delhi and Ms. Shikkha Sinha, Senior Advisor, International Corporation of DAAD visited University of Moratuwa on 29.11.2016. The DAAD (Deutscher  Academischer Austausch Dienst, German Academic Exchange Service)  is the world's largest funding organization for the international exchange of students & researchers which consist of regional offices funding for exchanging programs all over the world.

Dr. Manjula Mundakana, Senior Adviser for Consulate General for Germany in Bangalore, India and Mr. Jorn Rohde, German Ambassador for Sri Lanka, visited University of Moratuwa on 08th March 2017 as representatives of DAAD.

Dr. Jawad Syed, the Dean & Professor of Suleman Dawood School of Business ,Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Pakistan visited University of Moratuwa (UOM) on 10th March 2017 as a part of their international expansion strategy to network with academic institutions and to enroll Sri Lankan students to MBA programs of LUMS under full scholarships funded by Asian Development Bank. LUMS is keen on building partnerships in the areas of research collaborations, faculty collaborations and other forms of partnerships. Japanese delegates from Toyohashi university of technology visited University of Moratuwa

Japanese delegates from Toyohashi University of technology visited University of Moratuwa on 16.12.2016 and discussed about interested areas of both parties. They delivered a descriptive presentation on their university which is one of the state university ranked within the top 14 out of 86 National universities in Japan. According to them, as it is a national university, scholarships and very reasonable tuition fees are there. They have informed that those who are interested can apply through the university.
