Torch Relay ceremony - University of Moratuwa with regards to the Sri Lanka University Games 2016 was held on 30 th August 2016 at the University premises. The torch was handed over by the University of Ruhuna and it is to be passes to the University of Sri Jayawardenapura by us.

Prof. (Mrs.) C. Jayasinghe, Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Moratuwa was awarded theCVCD Excellence Award  2016, for the Most OutstandingSenior Researcher in the field of Technology and related Science including Engineering, Architecture

Foreign  delegates including Raj Mehta – Vice Provost, Professor of  Marketing – UC International, Lisa Holstrom – Senior Assistant Dean – College of Arts & Sciences, Gowribalan Ananda Vamadeva – Associate Professor of Mathematics  from University of Cincinnati, USA visited University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka

Mr. Abdulla Ziyad, Minister of State for Ministry of Environment and Energy of the Republic of Maldives visited the University of Moratuwa on 21st October 2016 and requested Training Programs to train Maldivian students in the areas of Water and Coastal Engineering.

The USA delegates including the Deputy Chief of Mission Mr.Robert Hilton and Director for Press, Academic, and Cultural Affairs Mr. James Russo visited the University of Moratuwa on 26th October 2016 and discussed about collaboration between US universities and the University of Moratuwa.

German delegates including Ms. Heike Mok, Director, DAAD New Delhi and Ms. Shikkha Sinha, Senior Advisor, International Corporation of DAAD visited University of Moratuwa on 29.11.2016. The DAAD (Deutscher  Academischer Austausch Dienst, German Academic Exchange Service)  is the world's largest funding organization for the international exchange of students & researchers which consist of regional offices funding for exchanging programs all over the world.
