German delegates including Ms. Heike Mok, Director, DAAD New Delhi and Ms. Shikkha Sinha, Senior Advisor, International Corporation of DAAD visited University of Moratuwa on 29.11.2016. The DAAD (Deutscher Academischer Austausch Dienst, German Academic Exchange Service) is the world's largest funding organization for the international exchange of students & researchers which consist of regional offices funding for exchanging programs all over the world. They discussed about granting of funds as individual scholarships and institutional scholarships, German academic exchange program, German research foundation and Institutional collaboration.
This was the second time of them visiting University of Moratuwa. The university already conducting different programs such as student exchanging programs and workshops with German universities as Hochschule Niederrhein and Munster university.
Prof. Dileeka Dias, The Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies has visited Germany from 2nd to 12th November 2016 and she delivered a detailed presentation regarding the programs available in Germany for Sri Lankan students, academics and administrative officers.
The Vice Chancellor of University of Moratuwa Professor Ananda Jayawardane presided the meeting which was attended by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of University of Moratuwa Professor R.A. Attalage, the Director, International Affairs, Prof. Gihan Dias, the Deans of Faculties and Dr. Janaka Wijesundara, Senior Lecturer, Department of Architecture University of Moratuwa who is the Research Ambassador for DAAD, and some lecturers of university.
