The Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for the Student Centre & Canteen Extension Building of the University of Moratuwa was held on 14th August 2014. with the participation of the Chancellor of the University Vidya Jyothi Emiritus Professor K.K.Y.W.Perera (Chief Guest), the Vice Chancellor Prof. Ananda Jayawardena, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, the Registrar, the Bursar, other officials of the University and representatives of the State Engineering Corporation, the contractor of the project.
The estimated cost of the project is 57 Million rupees and the project is expected to be completed within 6 months. Once the project is completed, it will accommodate facilities for students to engage in co-academic activities.
