The research paper- "Reactive Power Control for Regulation of Network Voltage with Integrated Wind Farms" co-authored by Dr Upuli Jayatunga won the Best Technical paper award at the ‘Present Around the World 2018’, organized by IET Young Professionals' Section, Sri Lanka. Reactive Power Control for Regulation of Network Voltage with Integrated Wind Farms was a final year undergraduate project of 2013 batch conducted by P.C.D. Dharmabandu, R.W.P. Thilinika, B.A.J. Pushpakumara and G.D. Kanchana. The project was supervised by Dr. Upuli Jayatunga of the department and Dr. Tilak Siyambalapitiya and Dr. Amila Wickramasinghe of Resource Management Associates (Pvt) Limited.
