The Annual General Meeting of the Mathematics Society ( also known as the Maths club) of the University of Moratuwa was held on the 04th of March 2009 at the ENTC auditorium .The occasion was graced by our beloved chief guest Dr.Ranga Rodrigo, who has been supporting the society from its inception. He presented on the topic "Eigen faces"- An application of Principal Component Analysis in the field of face recognition. Our Head of Department, Dr. Malhardeen encouraged the students by expressing the beauty of mathematics as a tool for innovation and a way for aesthetic pleasure. The Academic staff of the department was also present at the occasion.
As the main event of the agenda, the committee for the year 2010/2011 were elected and appointed to take duties from there onwards. We wish the new committee every success on its future endeavors.
