The 11th international conference, Moratuwa Engineering Research Conference (MERCon) 2025 was held on the 14th to 15th of August 2025 at the Civil Engineering Departmental Building Complex of the University of Moratuwa, concluding with its awards ceremony at The Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo. MERCon is the topmost international engineering research conference in the country with an h5 index of 18 and an h5 median of 29, soliciting papers related to 19 different engineering disciplines. The conference featured 152 research paper presentations across multiple parallel sessions. Three keynote speeches were delivered by well-known senior international academics. The event was attended by around 50 senior academics from home faculties and other universities in the country. The conference was organized by the Engineering Research Unit and the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Moratuwa with Technical Co-sponsorship of IEEE and Financial Sponsorship of the University of Moratuwa and industry.
