10th Moratuwa Engineering Research Conference - MERCon 2024
Moratuwa Engineering Research Conference (MERCon) 2024 was held from the 8th to 10th of August 2024. MERCon marked the 10th anniversary this year. The main conference was held at the Civil Engineering Departmental Building Complex. The number of paper presentations was 126 in four parallel sessions covering 23 tracks. Prof. Amin Abbosh, a professor and the director of Centre for Electromagnetic Innovations (ƐMAGIN) at The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia and Prof. Mohan Elara, a Provost’s Chair Professor and Associate Professor with the Engineering Product Development Pillar at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) were the keynote speakers during the main conference. Prof. Michael Pecht, a Chair Professor in Mechanical Engineering and a Professor in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Scientific Computation at the University of Maryland delivered the keynote speech at the MERCon 2024 closing and award ceremony. The conference was organized by the Engineering Research Unit and the IEEE Student Branch of University of Moratuwa with Technical Co- sponsorship of IEEE and Financial Sponsorship of University of Moratuwa and the industry.
