Tharindie Pilapitiya Represents Sri Lanka at Huawei Seeds for the Future 2025

The Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Moratuwa, is proud to announce that Tharindie Pilapitiya, an undergraduate from the 21st batch of the department, represented Sri Lanka at the prestigious Huawei Seeds for the Future 2025 program, held in China.

Huawei Seeds for the Future is a globally recognized talent development initiative that provides young engineers with exposure to emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing, 5G, and Smart Energy Systems. As part of the program, Tharindie visited Huawei’s Campus in Dongguan, the Huawei Headquarters in Shenzhen, and the Darwin Exhibition Hall, gaining first-hand experience of world-class innovation and advanced research environments.

The program also included visits to Smart PV sites, EV technology hubs, and Smart Data Centers, demonstrating how advanced digital and energy technologies are driving sustainability and digital transformation worldwide. Beyond technical learning, Tharindie actively engaged in cross-cultural collaboration, working with international participants and learning from industry experts through interactive sessions and discussions.

The department congratulates Tharindie Pilapitiya on her excellent representation of the university and the country, and wishes her continued success as she applies her knowledge and global exposure to contribute towards a smarter and more sustainable future.
