Speech on “Artificial Intelligence for Modern Society” at National Science Foundation

Chapa Sirithunge, a final year PhD student at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Moratuwa participated at the Knowledge Sharing Program organized by the National Science Foundation. The event was held on 24th September at the National Science Foundation Auditorium. She delivered a speech on “Artificial Intelligence for Modern Society” on behalf of the National Science Foundation. Students, staff members and general public interested in the field of AI witnessed the event. The speech was a part of the Knowledge Sharing Program which was intended to share the knowledge she gained from the Advanced Course on AI 2019 (ACAI) summer school. The summer school was held at the Technical University of Crete, Greece and this trip was funded in part by the National Science Foundation under the Overseas Training Program (OSTP) grant scheme. OSTP can be considered as valuable opportunity for Sri Lankan graduates to get international exposure under training programs and the support of the Science Foundation on behalf of that can be highly beneficial and appreciated.
