Prof. Lidula N. Widanagama Arachchige Participates as Panelist at IESL WinE Forum 2026

Prof. Lidula N. Widanagama Arachchige of the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Moratuwa, participated as a panelist at the IESL Women in Engineering (WinE) Forum 2026. The forum was organized by the Women Engineers’ Forum of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL), in collaboration with the Melwa Conglomerate, in celebration of International Women in Engineering Day 2026.
As part of the panel discussion titled “Engineering a Resilient Future: Leadership Insights from Women Shaping Tomorrow,” Prof. Widanagama Arachchige shared her perspectives on leadership, resilience, and the evolving role of women in engineering. Drawing on her experience as an academic and researcher, she reflected on the challenges and opportunities that shape the careers of women engineers and underscored the importance of empowering them to lead innovation and contribute to building a more sustainable and inclusive future.
The forum brought together engineers, academics, industry professionals, and students, offering a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and professional dialogue while celebrating the achievements and contributions of women in engineering.
Through her participation, Prof. Widanagama Arachchige contributed to advancing the conversation on gender diversity in engineering and to inspiring the next generation of women engineers to pursue leadership roles and drive positive change within the profession.
