Prof. Buddhika Jayasekara received SUSRED Award from NSF

Prof. Buddhika Jayasekra received the SUSRED Award 2019 from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for supervising the PhD degree of Dr. Viraj Muthugala within normal duration of 4 years. Award ceremony was held along with the World Science Day programme on 16^th November 2021 at the BMICH.

The doctoral thesis titled “Enhancing Interpretation of Uncertain Information in Navigational Commands for Service Robots Using Neuro-Fuzzy Approach”, focused on interpreting uncertain human language and gestures. This was implemented on Moratuwa Intelligent Robot (MIRob) platform.  This is the first PhD degree of the intelligent service robotics group, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Moratuwa.
