Prakampana’25, the annual cultural showcase organized by the Electrical Engineering Society (EESoc), illuminated the Rubert Peiris Auditorium on April 2, 2025, with a vibrant display of music, dance, and drama. For one memorable night, the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Moratuwa came alive not just as engineers, but as artists.

This year’s show featured a spectacular lineup of performances from student batches 20, 21, 22, and 23, who took to the stage with breathtaking energy, creativity, and unity. From soulful singing to energetic group dances and heartfelt dramatic pieces, every act reflected the talent and spirit of the EE community. The academic staff also joined the spotlight with performances that brought smiles, laughter, and a deeper sense of connection between students and faculty.
The night was further elevated by the presence of distinguished guests, including Prof. J.M.A. Manatunga, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Prof. Anura Vijayapala, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering. Several faculty members and staff joined in to support and celebrate the students’ artistic talents, reflecting the department’s strong sense of unity and encouragement beyond the classroom.
Prakampana’25 wasn’t just a cultural show, it was a celebration of expression, togetherness, and the vibrant life of the Electrical Engineering community. It reminded everyone that engineering minds can also create magic on stage.
