Phase-1 of the Technology-Enhanced Electrical Engineering Teaching Lab was opened by the Vice Chancellor, University of Moratuwa, on the 30th of November, 2022.
The teaching-lab that can accommodate 110 students at a time has been designed to give better hands-on learning experience to the undergraduate students through lectures, tutorials, simulation and hardware based experiments, and in-class tests then and there as combined activities under the direct supervision of the lecturer instead of separate group-by-group independent activities. Each table that supports 3 students will be equipped with a computer with a range of simulation software and experimental setups, power supplies, and measuring instruments. The key idea is to overcome the longer time required for large number of student groups, minimize the requirement of instructors in the laboratory based studies, and to give students better learning experience by visualizing the learning content in real-time via simulation and hardware experiments, paperless delivery and assessment.
