Dr. Upuli Jayatunga, Advisor of the IEEE IAS (Industry Applications Society) SB (Student Branch) Chapter of University of Moratuwa was awarded the Outstanding Chapter Project Organizer in the IEEE IAS Outstanding Member and Chapter Awards 2018.
Being the Most Outstanding SB chapter among 160 IAS chapters across the globe in year 2018, IAS UOM SB chapter could win six more awards. Among them, a Final year project team from the department of Electrical Engineering (E.H.A.D Shanaka Dilan Premarathna, K.A.P Chinthiya, R.R Dharmadasa and P.H.D.A.N Wijesinghe) won the First place of the IAS CMD Myron Zucker Design Competition (Team Category) for their Final year project - Development of a Three Phase Four Wire Power Flow Tool for Analysis of Distribution Networks With Distributed generation. This project was supervised by Dr. Upuli Jayatunga.
