Prof. Udaya Annakkage, a senior professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Manitoba, Canada visited the Department of Electrical Engineering and delivered a guest talk on “Learning from Everything: The Art of Continuous Growth.” During this talk, Prof. Annakkage shared insights and pieces of advice gathered over his professional life with the final year undergraduate students. The speech navigated through four key themes; making the best decisions independently of past ones, the notion that well begun is half done, transforming adverse situations into beneficial ones, and the importance of self-observation in action. Through personal anecdotes and reflections, Prof. Annakkage highlighted the significance of these themes in personal and professional growth. Encouraging young engineers to approach their careers with a resilient, positive mindset, the talk emphasized learning from every experience and embracing the journey of continuous growth.
