Enlumen 2025 marked a special milestone for the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Moratuwa, as it hosted its first-ever alumni get-together on March 12, 2025, at Eagles’ Lakeside Banquet & Convention Hall, Attidiya. The evening brought together generations of graduates, current students, and staff for a night filled with joy, reflection, and renewed connections.
This event was more than just a reunion; it was a celebration of the department’s legacy and the strong bonds that unite its community. Kicking off with highlights from recent achievements and student initiatives, the evening offered a glimpse into the department’s growth and its exciting path forward.
A centerpiece of the night was the insightful panel discussion titled “Preventing Blackouts in the AI Era: Is Digitalization the Solution for Intermittent Renewable Energy?”, featuring a distinguished panel, Prof. Udayanga Hemapala, Dr. Tilak Siyambalapitiya, Mr. Dammika Nanayakkara, Dr. Narendra De Silva, and Mr. Nadeera Wijesinghe. The discussion was skillfully moderated by Prof. Asanka Rodrigo.
But beyond the technical talks, Enlumen 2025 was a heartfelt reunion.
