The Annual General Meeting of Electrical Engineering Society (EESoc) of University of Moratuwa was held for the 23rd consecutive time on 31st January 2019 from 4.30 pm onwards at the Seminar Room, Department of Electrical Engineering. The occasion was illuminated with the presence of the academic staff and undergraduates of the Department of Electrical Engineering.
New office bearers for the year 2019/20 were elected as follows. Prof. J.P.Karunadasa was elected as the EESoc president and Dr. W.D. Prasad was elected as the senior treasurer. Mr. V.D.V.Y. Dharmasiri and Mr. A.K.Senaka as the vice presidents, Mr. D.K.S.P.Chandrasiri as the secretary, Mr. V.K.Jayasundara for the post of assistant secretary, Mr. M.M.S.D.Ranasingha as the junior treasurer, Mr. W.P.S.C.Maduranga as the social secretary were elected. Miss U.M.Hettiarachchi was elected as the senior editor meanwhile Mr. K.M.N.P.Jayawickrama was elected as the junior editor. Four committee members were elected for the EESoc board as follows; Mr. W.V.D.D.Sanjaya, Mr. M.N.Malshan, Mr. G.N.Wickramathunga and Mr. P.K.M.Senevirathne. These new bearers were assigned on their duties and got warm wishes by the former office bearers who did a tremendous service for the betterment of EESoc and the department.
The event was highlighted with an entertainment session performed by undergraduates of Electrical Engineering Department and was successfully concluded with important decisions and improvements for the upcoming EESoc year.
