Dr. W. D. Prasad has been promoted to the post of Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering (On merit), with effect from 01 November 2024.
Over the years, Prof. Prasad has made notable contributions to teaching, research, and academic leadership in the field of power systems.
He completed his undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, and later earned his PhD from the University of Manitoba, Canada, in 2016.
His research expertise spans several key areas, including the impact of renewable energy integration on power systems, applications of synchronized phasor measurement data, power system planning and operation, and power system stability.
The Department warmly congratulates Prof. Prasad on this well-earned recognition and looks forward to his continued contributions to academic excellence and research advancement.
