Dr. Asanka S. Rodrigo has been promoted to the post of Professor in Electrical Engineering in the Department of Electrical Engineering (on merit) with effect from 23rd June 2021.
Prof. Asanka Rodrigo received the BSc Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering with First Class Honours and MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. He received his PhD degree from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong. He has been serving the University of Moratuwa since May 2005 in the capacity of first as a Lecturer and then as a Senior Lecturer. He also served as the Director-Postgraduate Studies of the Faculty of Engineering and now serving as the Chairman of the Board of Studies of Research Degrees in the Faculty of Engineering and Multidisciplinary Research Degrees in the Faculty of Graduate Studies of the university. He is also a former Director General of the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority. The Department likes to congratulate Prof. Asanka Rodrigo on his new promotion and wishes him a long, happy, and rewarding career.
