EECon 2021, the Third International Electrical Engineering Conference organized by the Electrical Engineering Department, University of Moratuwa was successfully held on 24th September on virtual mode. EECon 2021 was technically cosponsored by IEEE Sri Lanka Section, and Sri Lanka Chapters of IEEE Power and Energy Society, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, and IEEE Power Electronics Society.
Two key notes, one by Dr. Dinesh Gurusinghe, Simulation Engineer – RTDS Technologies, Canada  on ‘Digital Real-Time Simulations for Power and Energy Systems’  and another by IEEE distinguished lecturer, Prof. Kai Sun on ‘Power Conversion Technology for Renewable Energy Systems Integrated into Medium Voltage DC Grids’ were included on the conference program.  Furthermore, a workshop on  'Soft Robotics for Biomedical Applications' were conducted and resource persons were Prof. Thrishantha Nanayakkara, Imperial College London and Dr. Thilina Lalitharatne,  Postdoctoral Researcher, Imperial College London, UK.
Papers were called from 05 technical tracks, namely Power Systems, Power Electronics and Applications, Energy Systems and Smart Technologies, Robotics and Intelligent Systems, and Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Systems and Applications. 54 papers were received from local and international research community and after double blind review process, 25 papers were selected for the publication on IEEE Xplore. All the accepted papers are now available on  IEEE Xplore digital library and accessed through  : https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/conhome/9580924/proceeding
