IEEE Student Branch of University of Moratuwa has been awarded the 2017 Darrel Chong Student Activity Award by the IEEE Student Activities Committee. Commending the active involvements and accomplishment of one of its main projects MoraXtreme of IEEE SB UoM, in a letter to Prof Sisil Kumarawadu, Counselor, IEEE SB UoM, IEEE Student Activities stated that "Your Student Branch has demonstrated steps toward improving the quality of IEEE Student Activities and the fostering of knowledge sharing. As a recipient, your commitment to value is highly regarded as this award recognizes consistent progress of your project. Please accept this award as an honor to continue in this manner."
