ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION LABORATORY

EIL

Introduction

This laboratory was originally named as Wiring Diagrams & Electrical Construction Laboratory. The main aim of this laboratory is to compliment the theories in Electrical installations by providing an opportunity for the students to gain hands-on experience through the practical sessions. The laboratory has advanced equipment to conduct laboratory classes on domestic and industrial electrical installation systems for the undergraduates. Some of the laboratory facilities include equipment for the measurement of earth resistance and resistivity, lab setups to conduct experiments on insulation and continuity testing, lab setups to determine the load and diversity factor, apparatus for ratings and selection of Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCBs), apparatus for Residual Current Device (RCD) testing and equipment for harmonic analysis.
