1.International Collaboration Workshop—Public Seminar on Creating Sustainable Value

The Center for Supply Chain, Operations, and Logistics Optimization (SCOLO) at the University of Moratuwa hosted a distinguished team of research collaborators from the University of Kassel, Germany.

Two highly reputed professors, renowned for their extensive expertise in sustainability, delivered a public talk on Friday, 3rd March, at 3:30 PM. The event was held at the Department of Transport Management and Logistics Engineering, University of Moratuwa.

The session attracted students, faculty, and professionals interested in sustainability and supply chain topics.

2.Workshop on “Developing Academic Writing Skills of Early Career Academics”

SCOLO conducted a workshop on “Developing Academic Writing Skills of Early Career Academics” on 2nd September 2022 at the Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, to empower the academic community there. This workshop was organized as part of their Faculty AHEAD Project. Prof. Niles Perera and Prof. Amila Thibbotuwawa led the workshop alongside members of SCOLO to develop the skills of the probationary lecturers at the Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya wishing to commence PhD studies to provide insights in developing Academic CVs, PhD research proposals, and statements of Purpose when pursuing higher study opportunities

3.Guest Lecture on “Our Best Weapon Against Global Disruption” in collaboration with Kinaxis.

SCOLO organized a guest lecture on Supply Chain Management: Our Best Weapon Against Global Disruption in collaboration with Kinaxis. Kisaxis is a supply chain management and sales and operation planning software company based in Kanata district of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Kinaxis has generously volunteered at the University of Moratuwa through the connection established at the 42nd International Symposium on Forecasting in Oxford earlier this year.

This guest lecture was held on 31st of October 2022 via Zoom. The guest speaker for the session was MattSpooner who is an industry thought leader at Kinaxis. He shared his global experience and strategies on supply chain management to empower the level 03 and level 04 undergraduates of the University of Moratuwa – Department of Transport & Logistics Management.
