REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
(Architectural Consultancy of Faculty of Business AHEAD/RA2/ELTALESE/UNI/FAC/CON/01)
The Government of Sri Lanka has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Accelerating Higher Education Expansion and Development (AHEAD) Operation and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services. The services include;
- Providing advice on architectural activities for refurbishment/setup physical infrastructure of the teaching and learning facilities
- Ensuring lighting, ventilation, safety and sustainability in the designing facilities
- Providing the relevant detailed architectural designs
- Developing & designing all architectural drawings; in 2D and 3D formats
The duration of the service is for 01 year from the date of signing the contract.
The Director, Operations Technical Secretariat, AHEAD Project on behalf of the Faculty of Business, University of Moratuwa now invites eligible individuals to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested individuals must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- A bachelors’ degree in Architect from a University recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC)
- Candidates with Chartered qualification
- Post graduate qualifications (Person with MPhil or higher is preferred)
- At least six years’ experience in architectural activities
- Candidates with prior experience in consultancy will be given priority
Required Professional Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to evaluate and propose strategic architectural solutions
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, regulations and quality standards
- Strong imagination and the ability think and create in three dimensions
- Professional qualifications in manual and auto cad draughtsman ship
- Communication and project management skills
- Ability to work independently, within the framework of the project’s requirements
A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the Government of Sri Lanka’s Guidelines on Selection and Employment of Consultants-2007.
