The University of Moratuwa hosted a distinguished delegation of representatives from leading Indian universities, facilitated by S R Global Services Pvt. Ltd., on 22 January 2026, as part of discussions aimed at strengthening international academic and research collaboration.
The visit was organised following a request received from S R Global Services Pvt. Ltd. in connection with the 8th consecutive “Study in India Fair 2026”, held on 21st January 2026 at The Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo, with the participation of several highly ranked private universities from India.
During the meeting, the Director of International Relations of the University of Moratuwa formally welcomed the delegation and expressed sincere appreciation to Ms. Ruwani Kawshali, Director-International Admission & Marketing, S R Global Services Pvt. Ltd. and the esteemed representatives of the Indian universities for visiting the University of Moratuwa and initiating dialogue on international partnerships. The discussions focused on exploring opportunities for:
- University-to-university partnerships
- Joint research supervision
- Industrial training programmes
- Staff and student exchange programmes
- Joint symposiums and seminars
- Collaborative research and innovation initiatives
It was encouraged to formalise these collaborations through the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and to initiate joint academic activities at the earliest.
The visiting Indian universities were also requested to directly engage with the relevant Heads of Departments and Faculties of the University of Moratuwa to identify specific areas of collaboration and to initiate project-based partnerships.
It was further reported that the profiles, proposals, and brochures of the visiting universities will be shared among all Deans, Heads of Departments, and staff members of the University of Moratuwa, encouraging them to initiate academic and research collaborations with their respective counterparts.
