Dr. Lidula Nilakshi Widanagama Arachchige received her B.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering with First Class Honors in 2002 from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Soon after the graduation, she joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Moratuwa as a temporary lecturer in 2002. She received the Asian Development Bank Full scholarship and completed a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2004 from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
With the receipt of AIT and Government of France full scholarship, Dr. Lidula N. Widanagama Arachchige completed her MEng Degree in Electrical Power Systems Management in 2006 from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok. She completed her PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2012 from the University of Manitoba, Canada. Dr. Lidula N. Widanagama Arachchige received several merit scholarships while pursuing her PhD, which includes University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship, Manitoba Graduate Scholarship and Full Industrial Research Fund from the Manitoba Hydro, Canada.
Her research interests include distributed and renewable energy systems and micro grids.
