The President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaska declared opened the eleventh Sri Lanka University Games (SLUG) at the University of Moratuwa on 2nd May 2013.

Sri Lanka University Games (SLUG) is a sporting event held once in three years with the participation of sportsmen and women from all 14 member universities of Sri Lanka Universities Sports Association (SLUSA) keeping with the standards and the traditions of Olympic Games.
