The High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Mr. Sandile Edwin Schalk visited the University of Moratuwa on 26th September 2022 and met the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. N.D. Gunawardena. Ms. René Everson-Varney, Counsellor: Political /Deputy High Commissioner accompanied the High Commissioner.

Dr. R.M.D.S. Gunarathne from the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering was appointed as a Young Editorial Board Member of Applied Energy Journal from 1st of October 2022 for two years. As a Young Editorial Board Member, she was assigned to the Quality Control Team of the journal. Applied Energy is a Scopus-indexed peer-reviewed journal published by Elsevier which focuses on the areas of energy conversion and conservation, the optimal use of energy resources, analysis and optimization of energy processes, mitigation of environmental pollutants, and sustainable energy systems.
