The Annual General Meeting of IMechE Student Chapter of University of Moratuwa was successfully held on 20th October 2022 in the University premises. The event was honoured with the participation of Mr. Lal Weerasinghe; Chairman of IMechE Sri Lanka Group as the guest of honour, Dr. Himan Punchihewa; Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering

DoME academic, Former Head-DoME, Former Chair IEEE Sri Lanka section, Prof. Ruwan Gopura won the IEEE Sri Lanka Section, "Most Outstanding Volunteer Award 2022 (Member category)" at the IEEE Sri Lanka section awards held on the 17th September, 2022. DoME proudly congratulates Prof. Gopura on his achievement.

Team Mora Avions, a group of students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, representing the university has successfully completed the IMechE UAS (Unmanned Air Systems) Challenge Competition (Virtual) 2022 and became the 1st runner-up competing with 32 teams from all around the world during the finals.
