Her Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Sri Lanka Dr. (Mrs.) Indira Lopez Arguelles, together with secretary of the embassy Mr.Wilfred Jayasinghe visited the University of Moratuwa on May 5, 2014.

The University of Moratuwa (UOM) held its 34th convocation on July 31, 2013at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) and conferred 1096 Bachelor Degrees, 356 Postgraduate Diplomas, degrees and other awards including four PhDs and five MPhils.

The Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Directors (CVCD) introduced in 2006 a scheme of awards called “CVCD Excellence Awards” to be awarded once in two years to recognize, appreciate and honor the outstanding contributions and accomplishments in research, innovation and invention by the staff in the University system.
