Interactive discussion on Future Directions of Advanced Robotics in Sri Lanka organized by Center for Advanced Robotics (CAR) was held in 4th of April in Wimalasurendra auditorium, IESL. Aim of this discussion was to Identify the needs of the industry from the research center and possible collaboration to fulfill the needs of the industry. Around 60 participants from leading robotics and automation related companies and Sri Lankan universities participated in the discussion. Dr. Buddhika Jayasekara, Director of Center for Advanced Robotics carried out the welcome remarks followed by Prof Rohan Munasinghe, Prof Ruwan Gopura, Dr. Thilina Lalitharatne and Dr. Damith Chathuranga conducting sessions on aerial robotics, assistive robotics, field robotics and Industrial robotics respectively. Then, the Interactive discussion moderated by Dr. Sanath Jayawardana was carried out. Discussion was a fruitful one which gave many insights on initiating research collaboration between the CAR and industry.
