Visit of Delegation from Incheon National University, Korea

A team of delegates from Incheon National University (INU), Korea visited the University of Moratuwa  (UoM) on 29th October 2019.

The Team consisted of Prof. Hyunchul Kang, Dean of College of Information Technology, INU,  Prof. Kyungkoo Jun, Vice Dean of College of Information Technology, INU, Prof.  Song Noh, Assistant Professor, Department of Information and Telecommunication Engineering INU, Dr. Hyunchae Chun, and Assistant Professor, Department of Information and Telecommunication Engineering, INU.

The delegates met Prof. PKS Mahanama, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. NK Wickramaarachchi, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Prof. (Mrs.) SAD Dias, Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies,  Dr. Nuwan Dayananda, Head, Department of Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering, Dr. Ranga Rodrigo,  Senior Lecturer, Department of Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering, Dr. Chamira Edussooriya, Senior Lecturer, Department of Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering and Ms. YS Karunarathne, Assistant Registrar, External Affairs, Publicity and International Students Promotion Division for an initial discussion.  It was decided to explore the possibility of collaborations in the fields of Electronic & Telecommunication, Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology in the following areas;

•    Research collaborations
•    Joint postgraduate degree programs and joint supervision
•    Student exchange
•    Hosting for staff members of the partner university for short term visits
•    Joint research publications and jointly applying for research grants

Following the meeting, the team met UoM scholars and made an excellent presentation on research at INU, to the students and the members of the academic staff of the UoM.

 It is expected to immediately start number of collaborative research projects in the areas of visible light communications, computer vision and wireless communications.
