UoM wins Two Awards at Andante 2019 Inter University Music Competition

Team Legato representing the Classical Music Society of University of Moratuwa was able to win the Best performance award along with the most Popular award at the Andante 2019 Inter University music competition. This competition was organized by the Sri Lanka Technology Campus and the grand finals was held at the Nawarangahala, Royal College, Colombo. Ten teams of passionated young musicians participated in the finals and drove great attention by their mindblowing performances. Well known reputed musicians of the country also glamoured the night. The competition was judged by senior musicians including Mr. Nadeeka Guruge and Mr. Jananath Warakagoda. The most popular category was chosen by the viewers votes on facebook shares also votes were of the audience were collected at the end of all  performances. 

The team representing the University of Moratuwa was a group of 12 members namely Naveen Pramodya, Sandeepa Arthanayaka, Prakash Thennakoon, Yasith Sandaruwan, Madanga Koralage, Tharindu Udakara, Triyon Vimukthi, Rajith Weerakoon, Rajika Chathuranga, Rameez Rasdeen, Pabasara Kannangara and Praweena Nirmani. With the support and guidance of Dr. Anishka Hettiarachchi and Prof. Jagath Premachandra along with the encouraging family members of the CMS family, team Legato could achieve this victory as a reward for their passion and dedication and take the Sri Lankas best Technical University, University of Moratuwa to higher standards in aesthetics as well.
