In 1993 the undergraduates of the 5th batch of the department of building economics organized the first ever Sarasavi Gee Sisila event which was colored by the presence of great musicians like Dr.Dayarathne Ranathunge, Mrs. Amara Ranathunge and Maestro Victor Rathnayake. 22 Years later this event has become one of the largest events of the University of Moratuwa and is recognized as the epitome of classical music by the University community.
This year Sarasavi Gee Sisila will remark its 20th stage performance and celebrate a legacy which spreads over 2 decades. The 2015 event will be colored by the presence of several great musicians of this era. Professor Sanath Nandasiri, Maestro Victor Rathnayake, VisharadhEdward Jayakody, Visharadh Sunil Edirisinghe, Mr, Karunarathne Divulgane, Mr. T.M.Jayarathne and Visharadh. Deepika Priyadarhsani will perform on the Sarasavi Gee Sisila 2015 which will be staged on 25th March from 6.30pm onwards.
