The M33 meeting and capacity building workshops of Erasmus+ Capacity Building project EUSL Energy were held at CentraleSupélec, France and KTH, Sweden from 26th September - 7th October 2022 with the participation of project members from the Open University of Sri Lanka, the University of Peradeniya, the University of Ruhuna and the University of Moratuwa. Dr. R.M.D.S. Gunarathne from the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, Prof. L.N.W. Arachchige and Dr. R.M.T. Damayanthi from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Dr. H. P. Karunathilake from the Department of Mechanical Engineering participated in the M33 meeting and capacity building workshops representing the University of Moratuwa.
In addition to the project meetings and circular economy workshops, the program at CentraleSupélec comprised of visiting EDF (électricité de France) R&D site in decarbonized energy, SIOM waste disposal center, and “SOLEIL” Synchrotron as well as cultural visits in Paris. The program at KTH comprised of diverse activities including a seminar attendance to see how a lecture at KTH is being conducted, a workshop on gender equality, diversity and equal conditions, a Live-in lab tour, a discussion on joint programs with the KTH international office, discussion with KTH Student Union, discussion on Circular Economy Initiative and Climate Action Center at KTH, visiting remote labs, demonstration and discussion about new trends in online education by AudicomPendax and SONY, discussion with Learnify about the repository as well as discussion with InnoEnergy on how they support entrepreneurs commercializing energy innovation. In addition, there was a short visit to Aalto University, Finland. The experience gained will be useful in the ongoing developments of the online joint MSc program in Energy for Circular Economy.
