Prof. Yasangika Sandanayake has been appointed as the Dean, Faculty of Architecture, with effect from 3rd November 2022.
She obtained her BSc in Quantity Surveying from University of Moratuwa, and PhD from University of Wolverhampton, UK. She joined the University of Moratuwa staff as a Lecturer in 2001. Currently, she is a Professor in Building Economics and is attached to the Department of Building Economics, University of Moratuwa.
Formally, she served as Head of the Department of Building Economics and Director, Postgraduate Studies Division, Faculty of Architecture.
She is the Scientific Committee Chair of the World Construction Symposium since 2012, and Joint Editor of Built Environment Project and Asset Management (an EMERALD Journal). In addition, she has been a resource person and an invited speaker for many leading conferences and workshops. Prof. Sandanayake has received many international and national awards including several EMERALD Research Awards, the FARU Award, and the Outstanding Research Award of the University of Moratuwa.
