Mrs. Thushari Seneviratne, a Senior Assistant Librarian of University of Moratuwa has won “Ms Vijita de Silva Research Award” for her collaborative initiatives on enhancing the awareness of Bolgoda environments. This esteemed award is presented annually by the Sri Lanka Library Association, acknowledging outstanding research, meritorious contributions, and innovative initiatives. It was presented to Mrs. Thushari at the Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Library Association, held on June 30th, 2023, at the Foundation Institute in Colombo.
The main objective of her attempts was to raise awareness, particularly among stakeholders in the education sector, about the importance of developing a deeper understanding of the resource-rich neighborhoods of Bolgoda. Through a thoughtfully designed series of activities and publications, she has successfully shared insightful information on the Bolgoda Ecosystem to foster a greater appreciation and ensure its sustainable development. Dr. Chulantha Jayawardena, a Senior Lecturer from the Department of Earth Resources Engineering had been instrumental in this collaborative venture, by crafting innovative and effective strategies of information sharing across all stakeholder layers.
