IMechE SOfE – 2020 country winner again from Moratuwa for the 3rd consecutive time

Shenal Theekshana, an undergraduate of the 17th batch of the Department of Mechanical Engineering won the Speak Our for Engineering (SOfE) national rounds held online on 08th August 2020. He spoke on the topic “Green Transportation for a Better Tomorrow” sharing his experience as a member of FalconE racing team of the Department. The competition was organized by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) Sri Lanka group and it was the first time that SOfE went online. There were 6 participants from student chapters representing the Universities of Ruhuna, Peradeniya, and Jayawardenapura. This is an annual competition organized across the world by IMechE to enhance speaking skills of engineers and motivate young members to excel in their careers. This is the 3rd consecutive time the Moratuwa Student Chapter became the national winner. Shenal will be participating in the SOfE Southern Asia Regional finals with contestants from India and Bangladesh.
