COMMENCEMENT OF THE OFFICIAL DUTIES OF THE NEW YEAR

The University of Moratuwa commenced official duties of the New Year on 2^nd  January 2023 by hoisting the National Flag, which was followed by the National Anthem, remembering the war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the motherland and the late staff members of the University. Subsequently, the public service oath was pledged by everyone.

Wishing the Officers, academic, administrative, academic support, and non-academic staff members a prosperous New Year, Prof. N.D. Gunawardena, the Vice-Chancellor explained the importance of efficiently managing available resources to carry out the University’s mission effectively, in order to achieve the vision and objectives. Further, he emphasized that the University should continue the initiatives taken toward the digitalization of operations.

Thirty-nine members of the academic, administrative, academic support, and non-academic staff of the University, who had completed 25, 30, 35, and 40 years of service respectively were honoured with the Long Service Awards. Staff who completed 40 years of service were awarded a plaque and a medal was presented to the others.
