CILT Sri Lanka Ideathon 2020 competition

Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Sri Lanka provided a platform for the first time to tackle supply chain, transport, and logistics challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic situation. The entire competition was held virtually from the 22nd of April to the 02nd of May 2020. Fifty-three submissions were received within 03 days, with worldwide participation from countries such as the USA, Nigeria, India, Malaysia, Oman, Canada, and Sri Lanka.

Team Meraki, a group of three students from the Department of Transport and Logistics Management, won the competition. Their idea was to present an idea to promote safe, secure, and efficient public transport as an emergency response model, which was vital to establish in situations such as Covid-19. The members of the winning team were Buddhi Weerasinghe (TLM), Kasuni Weerasinghe (TLM), and Ganisha Premarathne (TLM).
