Nalin Wickramarachchi is a Professor in Electrical Engineering at University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka with over 25 years of service at the Department of Electrical Engineering. Since obtaining his first degree from University of Moratuwa, he has received Masters degree from University of London, UK and Doctor of Philosophy from University of British Columbia, Canada. He is a Charted Engineer and a member of Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka.
His has a wide publication record in the areas of Controls and Automation, Lighting and Energy Efficient Utilization of Electricity, Artificial Intelligence and Bioinformatics. His post graduate research experience include several years of work at both the University of British Columbia, Canada and University of Melbourne, Australia where he was a Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Mechanical Engineering. His present research interests are in Energy Efficient Lighting Design and Renewable Energy Sources. In addition to his academic work, he has served as a technical consultant and a resource person for Ministry of Education, Ministry of Power and Energy, Open University of Sri Lanka and Arthur C Clerk Institute for Modern Technologies.
