Project Related Experience
- Project manager of the 4MW small hydro power plant at Assupiniella, Aranayake. All aspects of the project starting from ground level were managed.
- Involved in evaluating small hydro power projects in Kerala-India, Madagascar and Vietnam which are to be implemented by Lanka Transformers Ltd with local participation.
- Refurbished and operated 12MW diesel power plant at Kabool Lanka to provide electricity to CEB under an emergency power purchase agreement for a period of 4 months in year 2004.
- As the Manager Hydro Power Projects, at Lanka Transformers Limited, managed 2.5MW, Belihuloya small hydro power plant project. Financial planning, cash flow analysis, hydrology based energy calculations, project planning and implementation were carried out.
- Carried out a leading roll in the field as the project engineer (Electrical) in the construction of a 24MW diesel power plant at Sapugaskanda, first of this kind and scale to be purchased on CIF terms and erected by a local company. Participated in the commissioning and operation and maintenance of the power plant.
- Jointly prepared the cash flow and other financial statements for the project (Project cost US 16Million) and participated in the loan negotiation table.
- Coordinated in the preparation of agreement with Board of Investment, Fuel Purchase agreement and the Lease agreement for the said project.
- Participated as the chief of the tender evaluation committee for the selection of the supplier for the 24MW diesel power plant equipment.

- Participated as a key person in negotiation of power purchase agreement with the Ceylon Electricity Board as the project engineer for the first BOO thermal power plant.
