The Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Directors (CVCD) introduced in 2006 a scheme of awards called “CVCD Excellence Awards” to be awarded once in two years to recognize, appreciate and honor the outstanding contributions and accomplishments in research, innovation and invention by the staff in the University system.

A team composing academics and students of the University of Wollongong (UOW) led by Dr. Brad Stappenbelt and Dr. Tom Goldfinch met the Vice Chancellor Professor Ananda Jayewardane and the team from the University of Moratuwa on July 10, 2014 at the University of Moratuwa.

Hon Patali Champika Ranawaka, the Minister of Technology and Research visited the University of Moratuwa together with the Secretary to the Ministry, Adviser to the Hon Minister and Chairperson of NASTEC to discuss the way forward of implementing the Ministry’s 3T, 5-years R & D Investment Framework, on August 12, 2014.
