Sri Lanka University Games (SLUG) is a sporting event held once in three years with the participation of sportsmen and women from all 14 member universities of Sri Lanka Universities Sports Association (SLUSA) keeping with the standards and the traditions of Olympic Games. 

His Excellency the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaska declared opened the XI th  Sri Lanka University Games (SLUG) at the University of Moratuwa on 2nd May 2013.

The University of Moratuwa emerged as Overall Champion for the first time  in the Sri Lankan University Games (SLUG) at the XI SLUG 2013 gaining a rare opportunity as the host and the winner of the event with the most number of points [321.5].
