M.N.P. Dushyantha - currently reading for Ph.D. research on developing novel techniques to extract rare earth elements (REEs) from Sri Lankan sources to cater to the ever-increasing global REE demand, especially for applications like in renewable energy, high-tech, and aerospace, fostering the United Nations sustainable development goals (SDGs).
B.D.N.M. Batapola - currently reading for the Master of Philosophy (M.Phil). The research title is “Assessment of Rare Earth Element (REE) Potential in Different Geological Formations of Sri Lanka”. Supervisors are Dr. A.M.K.B. Abeysinghe, Prof. H.M.R. Premasiri, and Dr. L.P.S. Rohitha.
G. Prasadh Gunasinghe - currently working as a Lecturer in Department of Spatial Sciences, KDU southern campus. In addition, reading for an MPhil research degree in the Department of Earth Resource Engineering, University of Moratuwa and the research topic is “Hydrodynamics and Sediment Transport Modelling of a Monsoon Affected River Outlet”. And the main focus of this study is assessing hydrodynamics and sediment dynamics of a monsoon-affected river outlet in Kalutara, Sri Lanka.
A.K.C. Amodya - a research student currently reading for the Master of Philosophy in Remote sensing and GIS stream under the supervisors Dr D.M.D.O.K. Dissanayake and Prof. H.M.R. Premasiri, on “ Integrated remote sensing and GIS approach for modelling optimum path and locating urban terminals for Light Rail Track" considering Colombo area as the case study.
R.M.P Dilshara – Currently reading for the M. Phil under the research title of ‘’Indicative Assessment of Ni Phytomining Viability in Serpentinite Outcrop at Ginigalpelessa’’. Supervisors are Dr. A.M.K.B. Abeysinghe, Prof. H.M.R. Premasiri and Prof. N.P. Ratnayake from Department of Earth Resources Engineering, Universitiy of Moratuwa and Prof. W.T.P.S.K. Senarath from Department of Botany, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
