PhD, (Full time by research),Modeling and Simulation effects of drying and firing processes on properties of sintered ceramic bodies. Aim of this research is developed a Numerical Model for Ceramic bodies to measure properties by optimizing drying and firing process using ComputerComputational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). (Ongoing research)
MSc (Full time by research). Development of computational fluid dynamics model and emission control mechanism for a biogas combustion system. Iin this study, mixing of fuel and air is to be analysed with CFD. In the physical system the mixture from mixing chamber then enters directly to the combustion chamber. The reaction inside the combustion chamber also simulated with CFD. mixing incorporated with reactions are numerically modelled and simulated in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) platform to analysis gas phase combustion in spatial domain. (on going research)
MSc (Full time by research).Development of a Computational fluid dynamics Model for pollutant dispersion in complex terrain. The model is then tested to predict the air pollution dispersion behavior varies with the weather condition, wind pattern, and so on. Also, this study performed on a flat terrain surface with the same surface roughness to study how complex terrain surfaces affect the wind pattern and dispersion characteristics to rebuild the proper transportation system to minimize the pollutant accumulation inside the city. (on going research)
MSc (Full time by research),Development of computational fluid dynamics model and emission control mechanism for a bio-gas combustion system,
PhD, (Full time by research),Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Moratuwa Thesis on "Fractionation of essential oil using batch distillation". This study examines the thermodynamic correlations required in phase equilibria calculation i.e. estimation of vapor pressure and activity coefficient related to EO fractionation. Although the literature contains a large experimental database for most of the usual compounds, the data availability for essential oil constituents is still small, due to their characteristics, long chains and specific functional groups. This justifies the need of predictive methods to estimate the physical properties and to simulate the process for optimization.(on going research)
