SciVal/Scopus user interaction session

Library and Faculty of Graduate Studies organized an interaction session on SciVal/Scopus in collaboration with Elsevier for the academic staff and the students on February 15, 2018 at Library Auditorium. Mr. Vijay Reddy Customer Consultant (South Asia), Elsevier focused mainly on features such as how to benchmark research output and quality and how to build local teams and metrics to track and measure research. He presented a good analysis of university position, progress and areas university need to focus on.

Grove Art Online Awareness Session


The Library University of Moratuwa organized an awareness session on Grove Art Online in collaboration with Oxford University Press for the academic staff and the students of the University on February 1, 2018 at Library Auditorium. Ms. Sumita Sen, Asst. Manager Training - South Asia & South East Asia, Oxford University Press demonstrated all the features and the benefits that could be derived from the Grove Art Online.

National Reading Month 10th Anniversary Celebrations : National Ceremony and Presentation of Awards

awardLibrary, University of Moratuwa received a special award from National Library and Documentation Services Board for implementing a reading promotion programme to commemorate 10th anniversary of "National Reading Month".

As a result of two outreach activities, “Reading Camp” at Bodhiraja Vidyalaya, Katubedda and “Child Development Programme” in Sumudu Preschool, University of Moratuwa, Library made a significant impact in children’s’ education as well as reading awareness. Going the extra mile, Library invited parents to participate in reading awareness programme “පොත් කියවමු - දැනුම වඩමු”  since they could be involved as partners of reading which will develop a lifelong love of reading in their children.

Librarian Ruvini Kodikara recognized for outstanding work on Improving library services at University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka

The University of Moratuwa Library is proud to announce that Ruvini Kodikara, University Librarian is the recipient of this year's Vijita de Silva Research Award  - 2014 from the Sri Lanka Library Association. This award was presented to Ruvini Kodikara for her work on “Improving library services to enhance the learning environment at University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka”.

Seminar on Open Access Resources

Library, University of Moratuwa organized a seminar on “Open Access Resources" with the collaboration of National Science Foundation of Sri Lanka (NSF). The seminar was held on 29th April 2014, at Library Auditorium from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon.

Three resource persons conducted the session to emphasize the importance and the value of Open Access Scholarly Information for the researches of the academics.
